From Hungary we head to Bulgaria. Bulgaria was last seen at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2013, but back in November we saw Bulgaria finish second on their return to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. They will host this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Sofia.

Bulgaria debuted in Eurovision back in 2005, it took until 2007 for Bulgaria to qualify for the final. Elitsa & Stoyan performed “Water” in Bulgaria and finished 5th in the final with a total of 157 points. In both 2008 and 2012 Bulgaria came close to qualifying, finishing 11th in their semi final. Bulgaria withdrew from the contest in 2013 after six years of failing to qualify for the final.

On the Bulgarian Eurojury today is a member of the 2008 entry, Deep Zone Project. DJ Dian performed in Belgrade alongside Deep Zone Project, their song “DJ, Take Me Away” was 11 points away from qualifying for the final.

Here are the results of the Bulgarian vote:

  1. Belarus – 12 points
  2. Belgium – 10 points
  3. Romania – 8 points
  4. FYR Macedonia – 7 points
  5. Georgia – 6 points
  6. Iceland – 5 points
  7. Germany – 4 points
  8. Denmark – 3 points
  9. San Marino – 2 points
  10. Poland – 1 point

So San Marino have now picked up their first points. Let’s see how these points affect the top.5:

  1. Australia – 114 points
  2. Italy – 78 points
  3. Russia – 65 points
  4. Sweden – 65 points
  5. Iceland – 58 points
