AVROTROS have just revealed the name of their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Singer and songwriter Duncan Laurence will fly the flag for The Netherlands in Tel Aviv after having been selected internally by the broadcaster.
After many rumours surrounding the identity of the Dutch participant for Tel Aviv, the broadcaster has finally revealed officially the artist that will follow Waylon’s footsteps on the Eurovision stage. Against all the bests, Duncan Laurence has been selected to represent The Netherland in the biggest European music event.
“We were shocked by the song. It’s so powerful that we made the decision unanimously”, said AVROTROS’ Director General Eric van Stade.
Duncan Laurence is a singer, songwriter and producer who graduated at Tilburg’s Academy of Rock last year.
Further details about the Dutch entry will be revealed on March 7.
