Belgium 2023: Stage Director Hans Pannecoucke will create Gustaph’s act

Belgium has revealed the creative team behind their upcoming Eurovision act, Gustaph, who will perform the song “Because of You”. The most well-known name in this creative team is Hans Pannecouke, who was responsible for popular Eurovision acts, like the Dutch Common Linnets in 2014, who ended in a splendid second place with their song, “Calm After the Storm”.

The Belgian creative team

Below you can find a list of all the people who will be in the Belgian creative team, and will be the driving force behind Gustaph’s banger “Because of You”.

  • Yves Ruth: Creative Sirector and Choreographer

More about Hans Pannecoucke

In the colourful land of Eurovision Hans Pannecoucke has made quite the name for himself, because his involvement in the act of the Dutch Common Linnets, who entered the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014 in Copenhagen (Denmark) with the song “Calm After the Storm”. The duo got much acclaim for their song, but also for their act. Eventually the Common Linnets ended in second position, right after that year’s winner, Conchita Wurst. After Eurovision 2014, Hans Pannecoucke was also involved in the Dutch act of 2016 (Douwe Bob with “Slow Down”), the Swiss act of 2018 (ZiBBZ – Stones), and the Dutch entry of 2018 (Waylon with “Outlaw in ‘em”).

What else is going to happen?

Gustaph’s husband, Roen Lommelen, will take on the same role he had in the Belgian national final, Eurosong 2023; he will be designing the stage visuals for the performance.

Eurovision 2022

In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 Belgium was represented by Jérémie Makiese with the song “Miss You”. In Semi-final 1 Jérémie came in 8th, and in the Grand Final he came in 19th (of 25).
