Ictimai, the Azerbaijani national broadcaster, has announced that there are 5 acts still in the running to represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
Entrant of Eurovision 2023 already chosen?
There were rumours that the entrant of Eurovision 2023 was already chosen, so Ictimai, the national broadcaster of Azerbaijan, decided to give an update about the selection process.
Singer Rauf Kingsley said that the broadcaster chose the group Mamagama because this group works together with Eldar Gasimov who has recently become the Music Manager of the Azerbaijani Delegation of the Eurovision Song Contest. Ictimai denies this rumour.

Eurovision 2022
In the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 Azerbaijan was represented by Nadir Rustamli with the song “Fade to Black”. Nadir Rustamli was the first entrant ever to progress to the Grand Final with 0 points from the viewers, and subsequently only points from the professional juries. In the Grand Final he finished 16th (of 25).
