The 2023 Austrian entrant of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be revealed next week.
Austria’s 2023 entrant
On social media, the Head of Selection of the Austrian entry, Eberhard Forcher, has announced that Austria’s 2023 entrant will be revealed next week. Eberhard Forcher also revealed that the representative will be a woman.
The selection process
Austrian newspaper, Kleine Zeitung, announced in November of 2022 that acts were approached by the Austrian selection commission, and eventually 15 of these acts were invited to audition. The recordings of the auditions were shown to an Austrian and international Eurovision jury, but also a certain number of Eurovision fan clubs.
Eurovision 2022
In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 in Turin (Italy), Austria was represented by DJ Lum!x and Pia Maria with the song “Halo”. Unfortunately they did not make it into the Grand Final, because they ended in 15th place in Semi-final 1.
