Austria: 16 acts selected to fight for the ticket!

The Austrian public broadcaster (ORF) announced its details for the upcoming national final in March some weeks ago, now after listening to all the submitted entries, they have shorlisted them all to 16, who are the following:

  • Johann Sebastian BassHeart of Stone
  • Kathi KallauchDas Leben ist zu kurz
  • Kommando ElefantMein Design fürs Leben
  • Lemo So leicht
  • Makemakes Million Euro Smile
  • Mizgebonez Murmeltier / Fitnesstraining
  • Renato UnterbergLove
  • Royal KomboRam Pam Pam
  • The Su’sisThis And That
  • TandemZeig ihn mir
  • wo/MenHappy
  • Zoe Adieu

They will shows what on stage they are capable of, which includes skills at singing and how they do performing a song which shall be representing the Austrian colours at home next May. The selection system show, named as Eurovision Song Contest – Wer singt für Österreich?, includes 4 shows, kicking off on the 20th of February. From now on, a panel of 3 menthors, Anna F., Nazar and The BossHoss, will help them during the proccess and they will need to pick 6 out of the 16 already qualified but the results will not be out until the very first round of the shows. The final will take place on March 13th where 50/50 voting system made up of jury votes and televoting will pick the Austrian act for Vienna.

  1. THAT’S NOT FAIR!!!! How come Natália Kelly’s not in it? Is she NOT allowed to take part or anything? (2 hours later) Hold up, wait a minute! Maybe Natália should try HOSTING Eurovision in Vienna! Or she could be one of the interval acts, with a song titled “Road to Vienna!” 😀
