Armenia: Maléna’s song for Junior Eurovision 2021 revealed! Listen to “Qami Qami”

All songs for Junior Eurovision 2021 are now out! The last country to reveal their entry was Armenia and they have just released “Qami Qami”, the song that Maléna Fox will perform at the stage of La Seine Musicale in Paris on December 19. Listen to it below!

14-years old singer Maléna Fox was internally chosen to represent Armenia at Junior Eurovision 2021. Maléna was also due to perform for Armenia at the contest last year, when she was selected with the song “Why”. However, she was unable to participate because of the Armenian withdrawal from the competition due to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) and its consequences. Fortunately, this means that Maléna will have another opportunity this year to live his dream at the biggest children musical event in the world.

ABOUT MALÉNA FOX

Born on January 10, 2007, Arpine (Arpi) Martoyan is her real name, but she prefers to use her artistic name Maléna Fox to be easily known abroad and grow her musical career globally. She grew in a family of musicians and Maléna’s grandfather is a clarinetist who plays in the Philharmonic Orchestra.

The young singer received seven years of music education at the school after “Sayat-Nova”, where she studied solfeggio, music literature and cello. Maléna also loves to dance and has been attending dance classes since she was 10 years old. Inspired by R&B singers and rock bands, she began learning to play the guitar, which later played a significant role in her fledgling career.

Maléna has been a record label artist for TKN since 2020, where she works with the well-known producer Tokionine, who has also composed the last Armenian entry for Senior Eurovision, the song “Walking Out” that Srbuk performed at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv.

ARMENIA AT JUNIOR EUROVISION

Armenia made its debut at Junior Eurovision in 2007 and have participated ever since, except for 2020. They won the 2010 edition and hosted the contest the following year. However, they haven’t been very successful since the introduction of online voting despite being among the fan favourites in 2019.

Armenia was initially in the official list of participants for Junior Eurovision 2020, but the Armenian broadcaster was unable to complete proper preparations for the contest due to the introduction of martial law in the region as a result of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), so finally they withdrew from the competition.

In their last participation until now in 2019, they achieved the 9th place with Karina Ignatyan performing ‘Colours Of Your Dream’.
