A few moments ago, UMK, the Finnish national final for Eurovision 2020 has ended and we have a winner! Aksel Kankaanranta will represent the country with the song “Looking Back” next May in Rotterdam! You can see the winning performance below:
Back in November, YLE released a call for songs and artists for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. From all 426 submissions received, a 10-member expert panel selected the 6 entries that took part the final of UMK 2020:
- Tika – I Let my Heart Break
- Erika Vikman – Cicciolina
- Aksel Kankaanranta – Looking Back
- F3M – Bananas
- Sansa – Lover View
- Catharina Zühlke – Eternity
The jury voted before the public, and their results were as follows:

Tonight’s winner was determined jointly by TV viewers and an international jury panel. The public was able to vote either for free via YLE’s App or by sending an SMS.
