Switzerland already has its representative. Veronica Fusaro will be the Swiss flag bearer at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, succeeding Zoë Më. This Tuesday, January 20, the Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR revealed the identity of its representative in Vienna.
The singer and songwriter will be responsible for defending Switzerland’s colors at the Wiener Stadthalle on May 12, 14, and 16. Specifically, the Swiss entry will compete in the first half of the second semi-final on Thursday, May 14.
Furthermore, the date on which we will be able to hear her proposal has also been announced. The song that Veronica Fusaro will perform will be presented on Wednesday, March 11.
The Swiss candidacy for Vienna 2026 was selected from among the 493 songs submitted to the call, which went through a multi-stage selection process that included an international public vote and a jury of experts. Thus, the final result was determined by a 50/50 split between audience votes and the expert panel.
Switzerland’s project will feature the visual and artistic direction of Fredrik “Benke” Rydman (1974). He is one of the most prominent creative directors with extensive experience at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Swedish dancer, choreographer, and artistic director was responsible for directing the winning entries of Måns Zelmerlöw with “Heroes” (Sweden 2015) and Nemo Mettler with “The Code” (Switzerland 2024). He also directed Käärijä’s performance with “Cha Cha Cha” (Finland 2023).
For this occasion, Fredrik “Benke” Rydman is creating a stage concept for Veronica Fusaro that places musical identity, emotional presence, and storytelling at the center.
