The Eurovision Young Musicians is getting closer and EBU has already allocated the pre-round participants in 2 days. New to Eurovision Young Musicians 2014 is the ‘pre-round’ concept, which replaces the semifinal stage that was used in 2012.
In the pre-round, each of the contestants will perform a longer, 15-minute program. The jury will be watching and judging the performances, however the scores will remain secret. However this is not a semifinal, so none of the acts will leave the competition after the pre-round.
The idea of this concept is that it allows the participants more time to show their musical expertise before the grand final (May 31), and allows them to perform a longer set of pieces.
