Where will the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2027 take place? For now, there is no official host. After Armenia’s victory with Naré and «BOO!» in Ta’ Qali (Malta) on 24 October 2026, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has not yet announced which country and city will stage the 25th edition of the children’s contest.
Will Armenia host Junior Eurovision 2027?
Not necessarily. Unlike the Eurovision Song Contest, where the winning country usually hosts the following year, winning Junior Eurovision does not guarantee hosting rights: the EBU chooses the host among the broadcasters that submit a bid. Armenia has hosted the contest twice, in Yerevan in 2011 and 2022, both times after winning.
Recent years show both scenarios. France hosted in Nice in 2023 after winning in 2022, and Georgia hosted in Tbilisi in 2025 after its 2024 win. However, France’s 2023 victory was followed by Madrid 2024, and after France won again in Tbilisi in 2025, the 2026 contest went to Malta, which hosted for the third time after 2014 and 2016.
When will the Junior Eurovision 2027 host be announced?
The EBU has not set a date. In recent editions, the host has been confirmed several months after the previous final, once negotiations with the host broadcaster were completed. We will update this article as soon as there is an official announcement.
Which countries are already preparing for 2027?
- Spain: RTVE has confirmed its intention to take part and hopes to bring back an open casting.
- Netherlands: applications are already open for Junior Songfestival 2027, which will select the Dutch entry.
- North Macedonia: broadcaster MRT has included the contest in its plans, although participation is not yet official.
- Norway: it is bringing back Melodi Grand Prix Junior in 2027, but will not return to Junior Eurovision.
