Video: Malta’s Eurovision 1996 representative releases remix of “In a Woman’s Heart”

In 1996, a 17-year old girl with a story to tell got through to the finals of the Malta Song for Europe, went out on stage and gave a stunning performance of a modern-sounding pop R’n’B song. Penned by Alfred C Sant, with music by Paul Abela, that song was In a Woman’s Heart, and that teenage girl was Miriam Christine.

Fast forward 23 years, Miriam Christine requires no introduction having been on the local music scene ever since, partaking in L-Għanja tal-Poplu; the Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija; and the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza not to mention releasing no less than 3 distinctively sounding studio albums, and gearing up for the release of a 4th later on this year.

A couple of months ago, with Malta Pride 2019 in the distance, Miriam Christine and her management decided to pitch a remix of In a Woman’s Heart to Peter Carbonaro, creative director of Malta Pride 2019 to launch during the annual concert. He said yes, and the rest is history.

“It’s unbelievable! The response has been so much more than I expected and I couldn’t do it without my fans. The LGBT+ has been incredibly special to me along the years, and they have continued to stand by me!… even though it’s been 23 years, this song still has a great vibe, and I hope that all of you enjoy listening to it, as much as I do performing it <3” said Miriam Christine, just off the stage at the Malta Pride 2019 Concert.

In a Woman’s Heart (Pride Remix) was remixed by Sean Vella of Philip Vella Studios and is supported by a lyric video produced by Duane & Angie Laus. It is available to download and stream through all major digital music platforms courtesy of German publishing and distribution company CAP-Sounds who work closely with Ironic PR & Artist Management.
