Vidbir 2025: Ziferblat wins with “Bird of Pray” and will represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2025

After an exciting night of music and competition, Ziferblat has emerged victorious in Ukraine’s national selection, Vidbir 2025. The Kyiv-based band will now carry the nation’s hopes to Basel, where they will perform their winning entry, “Bird of Pray,” at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Vidbir 2025 saw ten acts battle it out for the honor of representing Ukraine on the Eurovision stage. The results were determined by a combination of a professional jury (50%) and a public vote (50%). If a tie were to occur, the televote would take precedence in deciding the winner.

The full results were as follows:

The evening was not without its usual dose of Vidbir drama. Once again, the Diia app – Ukraine’s government-backed voting platform – experienced capacity issues, delaying the public vote. However, Suspilne had anticipated this and managed to keep the situation under control, preventing a repeat of last year’s lengthy voting fiasco.

Who are Ziferblat?

Ziferblat is a Kyiv-based alternative rock band founded in 2015. The trio consists of twin brothers Daniil Leshchynskyi (vocals) and Valentin Leshchynskyi (guitar), as well as drummer Fyodor Khodakov. The band first gained attention with their debut album Кіносеанс (Kinoseans) in 2017 and continued their musical journey with releases like Vnochi (2019) and Dlya choho ty pryshla (2022). Their latest album, Peretvorennya, was released in 2023.

Ziferblat has received multiple accolades, including the Best New Names in Alternative Music award at the Muzvar Music Awards 2023. They were also nominated in three categories at the Megogo Music Awards: Alternative Indie Artist of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Album of the Year. In 2024, they embarked on their first nationwide tour and finished as runners-up in Vidbir 2024 with their song Place I Call Home.

With their powerful rock sound and compelling stage presence, Ziferblat will now turn their attention to Basel, where they will aim to bring another strong result for Ukraine at Eurovision 2025.
