Eurovision Eurovision 2020 Sweden

Tonight: Melodifestivalen 2020 Grand Final takes place in Sweden

The final of Melodifestivalen 2020 will take place tonight live from Stockholm’s Friends Arena. Twelve acts have reached the final of the popular show after five weeks of competition around Sweden.

Lina Hedlund, Linnea Henriksson and David Sundin will host the evening for the sixth and sadly, last time for this year.

Here is tonight’s line-up in order of appearance:

  1. Victor Crone – “Troubled Waters”
  2. Paul Rey – “Talking In My Sleep”
  3. The Mamas – “Move”
  4. Mohombi – “Winners”
  5. Hanna Ferm – “Brave”
  6. Mendez feat. Alvaro Estrella – “Vamos Amigos”
  7. Dotter – “Bulletproof”
  8. Robin Bengtsson – “Take A Chance”
  9. Mariette – “Shout It Out”
  10. Felix Sandman – “Boys With Emotions”
  11. Anna Bergendahl – “Kingdom Come”
  12. Anis Don Demina – “Vem E Som Oss”

As in previous years, the winner will be decided by a 50/50 combination of televoting and the vote of an international jury panel made up of members from the following countries:

  • Israel
  • Austria
  • Armenia
  • Australia
  • Malta
  • Iceland
  • France
  • The Netherlands

So what will we see tonight?
For more than a decade, in every final, SVT invites an artist to perform the winning song from the previous year in a complete different way. So, this year, Babben Larsson will perform a Swedish version of John Lundvik’s “Too Late For Love”. The production’s comment on Babben was “you have never seen her like this before”.
The interval act is going to be a disco number with the hosts telling us what to take from this year’s Melodifestivalen once it is over.

What is different this year is the way they will present the results. To make it more exciting, SVT switched to the system EBU used in last year’s Eurovision. The jury will award their points as usual but the televoting will be presented by awarding the viewers’ points to the artist that came last in the juries’ ranking. Then to the artist that came second to last and so on.

You can watch the show live at 20:00 CET via our Multi-window live feed.
