The running order for both shows was decided close doors behind by Albanian public national broadcaster RTSH and announced just a few days ago. Head of Public Relations Klozeta Kurti has also revealed that this year, the professional jury panel appointed by Radio Televizioni Shqiptar will have the very own final say on who is going to fly the Albanian colours in Lisbon, as it now differs from last year when an online and public voting system was introduced for the first time, even though it did not make much sense when it just counted 1/13 of the final outcome.

Kurti also stated that it was good for the singers and their entries to let them being played on the radio and upload them to YouTube, in order to get much more promotion beforehand.

The semifinal qualifiers making up the finals’ line-up will not be revealed until tonight’s appointment is over, so them all will get the same chances when it comes to their visibility in front of the big audience and the Albanian TV viewers. The exact amount of finalists is still unknown.

The Schedule

  • First Semi-Final – December 21
  • Second Semi-Final – December 22
  • Final – December 23

This year’s festival is being introduced to the audience by Albanian journalist and television host Adi Krasta, who has hosted the whole thing in 1997, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2006. This marks his 6th.
