The national broadcaster of Switzerland has announced that the 2024 entrant will be chosen by an internal selection, like the country did for their 2023 entry.
The Swiss selection
On August 2nd 2023 the national broadcaster of Switzerland, SRF, has announced that the 2024 entrant will be chosen by an internal selection. The song submission will be open from August 10th until August 24th 2023.
SRF will be looking for a “modern striking song that complies with international requirements”.
The process of finding the new Swiss entrant
The process of finding the new Swiss entrant is the following:
Who will progress to the next round of the selection process will be decided by editors; the artists in this next round will be judged by the Swiss and international audience. These juries will be joined by a 25-member international expert jury, and these jurors are past Eurovision jurors.
Eurovision 2023
In the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool (United Kingdom) Switzerland was represented by Remo Forrer with the song “Watergun”. Remo was able to make it into the Grand Final by ending 8th (of 15) in Semi-final 1, and eventually came in 20th (of 26) in the Grand Final.
