Interesting result facts
• The fact that Jacqline and Cazzi Opeia took the final places means that both final entries have more than one female songwriter, something that has never happened since the heats were introduced in 2002. Jacqline’s entry is written by herself and Moa “Cazzi Opeia” Carlebecker, among others, while Cazzi Opeia’s own entry is written by, among others, herself and Ellen Berg.
• Both final entries of this heat were performed by female artists. The last time this happened was in heat 2 in 2020 (Anna Bergendahl and Dotter), and before that it last happened in heat 4 in 2009 (Malena Ernman and Agnes).
• With Jacqline and Cazzi Opeia, Thomas G:son received his 32nd and 33rd final entries of all time, which means that he is now the sole record holder on the list of the most final entries in Melodifestivalen’s history.
• Artist Moa “Cazzi Opeia” Carlebecker competed against himself as a songwriter for Jacqline‘s entry “Effortless”. The fact that an artist has written one of the other competing songs in a heat has only happened once before in the modern Melodifestivalen: when Nanne Grönvall sang “Carpool Karaoke” in 2020 and at the same time had co-written “If you think I miss you” for Jakob Karlberg. Both of Cazzi Opeia’s entries went directly to the final, which had not previously happened for a contestant who had been in that situation.
• Jacqline going straight to the final means that songwriter Dino Medanhodzic extends his record streak, where he has now gone straight to the final from his heat with nine entries in a row. These nine entries are also all that he has competed with during his Melodifestivalen career. He is now chasing Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt, who has reached the final with eleven entries in a row, but where in one of the cases a collection qualification was required.
• The four artists who moved on to the next phases have only competed with one entry before. Such a fresh group of artists advancing from a heat has not happened since the third heat in 2017, where Robin Bengtsson was the only one to have competed before.
Next week, the journey continues on the 17th of February live from Eskilstuna, where another 6 acts will compete for the golden tickets.
