Turns out that national Eurovision preparations do get a touch of ABBA, because the ‘90’s-‘00’s pop group, A*teens, will perform during the first semi-final of the Swedish national final, Melodifestivalen 2024. This information was revealed yesterday by the Swedish national broadcaster, SVT.
Who are the A*teens?
The A*teens became popular at the beginning of the ‘00’s when there was an ABBA revival going on in pop music. The A*teens covered ABBA classics, such as “Mamma Mia” and “Super Trouper”; next to this, they sang their own repertoire. The group existed of four, back then, teens: Marie Serneholt, Dhani Lennevald, Sara Lumholdt, and Amit Sebastian Paul. A*teens celebrate their 25th jubilee this year. In their days A*teens released several albums, one of which was called “The ABBA Generation”.
When will A*teens perform as an interval act?
A*teens will perform as an interval act during the first semi-final of the Swedish national final, also known as “Melodifestivalen”, on February 3rd 2024. This first Swedish national semi-final will happen in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest venue, the Malmö Arena, in the city of Malmö (Sweden).
