National Final Spain

The facts under the Spanish selection

As you already know, ESC+Plus.com exclusively confirmed some days ago that according to some reliable sources, RTVE will choose their representative for Eurovision 2014 by an opened procedure.

Plenty of rumours have surrounded this year’s Spanish Eurovision candidacy at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, from Roser or fan-favourite Ruth Lorenzo internally chosen to represent the country  to a public selection proccess trough the internet with some artists invited by TVE.

Lately it was most believed that finally Ruth (X FACTOR UK 2008 SERIES) would finally represent the country, as Ruth’s record label, Roster Music admitted proposing and undeniable project so on being in talks with TVE but with no clear reply. Now the fact that Spanish public broadcaster, RTVE, is not sure about picking a non-popular artist in the country for Eurovision, even having media and fan support, has become true.

Some reliable media revealed from some days ago back that an open proccess would finally see the light in order to select the Spanish entry, now it seems to have this confirmed. Artists like Roser, Raúl (NF 2000), Melody (NF 2009 runner-up), Maria Isabel (JESC 2004 WINNER for Spain) or even the one and only Ruth Lorenzo, after stating that would never enter but as realising of the support (3 times trending topic in Spain) of the fans, she could be finally saying ”YES” to enter the national final, but the final saying is in her hands. The final line-up is still to be closed, 5 artists are at least in, but it’s not expected to have more than 10 participants. There is still a possibility for some TV producer, probably GESTMUSIC, to be involved in pushing TVE to broadcast a TV Show after the internet proccess but phone lines for the people would even be opened from the very beginning to call and vote for their favourite. This seems to be the method for TVE, as internal sources revealed. -Although, as the rest of this article, nothing is officially confirmed yet.

We want to avoid confussion among our readers as this information was revealed on the Spanish press these past days and nobody at our team has nothing to see with revealing anything about it. This is also not confirmed by TVE and it is expected to have an official anouncement throughout this week, as the allocation draw for the semifinals is set to take place in Copenhagen on the 20th of January.

Who would you like to see representing Spain in Copenhagen? This is becoming more and more exciting!

Personally for me is Ruth Lorenzo who joins all the characteristics that an artist should own for the Eurovision Contest, voice, bilingual both on English and Spanish and a recognisable Spanish wild image – just watch and listen to recent uploaded cover by Ruth singing Lorde’s Royals with some ”Roaring” parts to Katy Perry’s song below:

Who cares about success in my country? Was Lucía Perez popular before Eurovision or even D’Nash, Son de Sol or Daniel Diges?
