Say Yay! RTVE gets ready to pick its 2018 Eurovision act, save the date!
RTVE has just revealed the date of the Spanish national final for Eurovision 2018, the broadcaster made the announcement during the 11th show of the 9th series of OT 2017, a few minutes ago. Thus, Spain will choose its act for Eurovision 2018 on the 29th of January airing a special programme of their well-known talent show Operación Triunfo in order to do so.
As announced a few weeks ago, the Spanish entrant in Lisbon will be selected among the five finalists of the 9th series of Operación Triunfo. The songs will be made public next January 23rd, together with their respective composers. The artists will have only six days (23-29) to rehearse their songs and the performances together with the songwriters and music staff at the OT Academy.
As announced by one of the producers of the show, RTVE in conjuction with Gestmusic have been collecting songs primarly in Spanish behind closed-doors.
The artists still in competition who are still elegible to compete for the Spanish ticket to Eurovision are: Amaia, Aitana, Agoney, Ana Guerra, Alfred, Miriam, Nerea and Roi.
