National and foreign composers are allowed to submit their songs for the Slovenian competition following the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest. RTVSLO is asking applicants to send their songs in Slovenian version and in the version they intend to perform at Eurovision. The Slovenian broadcaster has also announced that they will approach established acts and songwriters to compete at EMA 2018 independently of this selection process.

The announcement of Slovenian contenders will take place no later than December 8th, 2017. RTVSLO will reveal more details of the next year’s EMA by the end of the year.
