Slovenia: EMA candidates revealed!

RTVSLO has announced the names of the eight candidates which will be competing at this year’s EMA:

• Alya & Neno Belan
• Clemens
• I.C.E.
• Jana Šušteršič
• Maraaya
• Martina Majerle
• RudiBučar
• Tim Kores – Kori

Some of these candidates have been chosen from a total of 145 received by a professional committee (Darja Švajger, Matej Wolf, Aleksander Radić and Jernej Vene) while other percentage have been invited by RTVSLO.

We can find some familiar names in the list: Maraaya is the duet formed by Marjetka and Raay Vovk who were in charge of the last year’s Junior Eurovision entry “Nisi Sam”, Raay also composed the Eurovision entry “Round and Round”; Martina Majerle represented Slovenia at Eurovision 2009 together with Quartissimo, she was also backing vocalist of the last year’s Montenegrin entrant Sergej Cetkovic. Other participants have also taken part in previous editions of EMA and other Slovenian talents shows.

The final of EMA will take place on February 28, during the show, the eight candidate songs will be evaluated by a professional jury and only two of them will proceed to the superfinal where the audience will be able to vote and decide the winner.
