Serbia lunches new national selection format for 2018

RTS has announced the return of their open national selection for Eurovision “Pesma Evrovizije” in a renewed format. The broadcaster had been selecting internally for two years since Bojana managed to win the Serbian selection in 2015.

The Serbian broadcaster is working on a brand new format of national selection in which a panel of experts will decide the next national representative at the Eurovision Song Contest.

All interested singers/composers can send their applications anonimously until the 20th of October following the rules available here. Among the rules, it’s interesting to highlight that all compositions must be written in Serbian or in any other official language of the country.

After the submission period is closed, a panel of music experts will choose 10 compositions from which the winner will be selected by solely jury panel decision. So, this year the audience won’t have any power to decide the Serbian representative for Eurovision.
