San Marino has made public that their national selection “Una Voce per San Marino” remains the national selection format for the Eurovision Song Contest for the 2024 edition in Malmö (Sweden), and by doing so they also confirmed their participation in the upcoming contest.
Una Voce per San Marino
For the third consecutive year the Sanmarinese national selection will be “Una Voce per San Marino”. This time around the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest contest will be chosen with this televised show.
In 2023 no less than 106 artists took the stage in this show, making the Sanmarinese preselection the biggest of the 2023 Eurovision season.
Changes in the 2024 format
The 2024 version of Una Voce per San Marino will see come changes in the format, like the return of the wildcard, so that well-known acts get direct access to the national grand final.
A brief history of Una Voce per San Marino
Like stated above it is the third consecutive time that San Marino will use the Una Voce per San Marino format as their way to pick the country’s Eurovision representative.
The Una Voce per San Marino concept was first used in 2022 with Achille Lauro winning the national selection with the song “Stripper” (14th of 18 in Semi-final 2, not making it into the Grand Final), and in 2023 Piqued Jacks won with the song “Like an Animal” (16th of 16 in Semi-final 2, coming in last, thus not making it into the Grand Final).
