Spanish final for Eurovision 2014 has just ended and Ruth Lorenzo is the winner!
After months of rumours about an internal selection or an opened one, the singer has been finally chosen to represent Spain at Eurovision 2014 with the song “Dancing in the Rain”:
Ruth has been selected among other 5 candidates winning the public vote, which had a higher value, and coming second in juries, the final scoreboard has ended as it follows:
Ruth Lorenzo, mostly unknown in Spain, she finished in the top 5 of the UK’s X Factor in 2008 with Dannii Minogue as her mentor, there she caused a big admiration from juries and viewers, giving some amazing performances like “Britney Spears y American classics” and “Knocking on Heavens Door”. After trying to break it in the difficult British market she came back home and has just signed with a new record company aiming to reach not only the Spanish market but the international one too.
The winner have been decided by a mix of professional jury formed by the singers David Bustamante, Merche and Mónica Naranjo and a public televote. “Mira Quién va a Eurovisión” has been hosted by Anne Igartiburu and Gisela (Andorra 2008) has performed a medley of Eurovision songs as guest.
