Report: Greek media reveals national final details and candidates

newsit.gr has revealed details about the Greek national selection Eurovision 2018. According to this source, ERT will select their representative on 16th February during a show that will take place in the broadcaster’s studios in Athens.

A few months ago, ERT confirmed to ESCToday that they had approached record labels in order to select the national finalists. Twenty candidate songs had been submitted to compete in the Greek final:

An internal artistic committee has indeed examined 20 candidate songs, submitted by record companies following the letter sent earlier. The committee focused on five songs. Their recommendation will be examined by a working group, that will be set up in order to determine the next steps towards the organization of a national final., they said.

The site mentioned above has revealed that it will be the audience who will decide the winner of the Greek final. Moreover, they have published the list of finalists:

  • Areti Ketime – Don’t forget the Sun
  • Chorostalites – Apo tin Thraki os tin Kriti
  • Duo Fina – Idio Tempo
  • Gianna Terzi – To oniro mou
  • Tony Vlachos – Baila Jazz

It’s reported that the songs will be presented to the public through official music videos during the final.
