The European Broadcasting Union has just confirmed that the 17th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Poland. TVP won the right to host the competition following Roksana Węgiel’s victory in Minsk with the song ‘Anyone I Want To Be’.
Jon Ola Sand, the EBU’s Head of Live Events said: “We are delighted to announce Poland as our Host Country, and TVP as our Host Broadcaster, for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 and once again congratulate Roksana Węgiel on her spectacular winning performance at this year’s Contest. It is always exciting to bring the event to a new Host Country for the first time, and we look forward to seeing TVP’s vision for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 come to life over the forthcoming year.’
This isn’t the first time the Polish broadcaster will host a Eurovision event as the Young Dancers 2013 competition was held in Gdańsk. However, this will be the first song contest ever held in Poland. Although there are many rumours about it, the final date and city will be announced in the next months.
