Moldova 2023: Song submission window open

The Moldovan national broadcaster, Teleradio-Moldova (TRM), has opened its song submission window on December 23rd 2022 to find the next representative of Moldova for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, the United Kingdom. Songs can be submitted until January 16th 2023, 17:00 local time.

Three stages

The national selection of Moldova entails three stages, which are:

  1. All song submissions will be reviewed, which will take place between January 25th and 28th 2023.
  2. Songs that are interesting are invited to be played during live auditions, which will be broadcast live between January 28th 2023 and February 5th 2023 on TV Moldova 2. The voting will be done by a professional jury only. The 10 acts that will get the highest points will proceed to the national final.
  3. The date of the national final of Moldova is unknown for now, but it will be between February 25th 2023 and March 5th 2023. The final will be broadcast live on TV Moldova 1, but also online. The winner will be decided by 50% professional jury votes and 50% public votes.

Eurovision 2022

In the Eurovision Song Contest the band “Zdob și Zdub” competed in the contest for the third time, and in Semi-final 1 they ended in 8th place; eventually they came in 7th (out of 25) in the Grand Final.
