Who is Sandra Studer?

Born in Zurich on February 10, 1969Sandra Studer is a beloved Swiss TV presenter, actress, and singer with a unique Eurovision story. Her father is Swiss and her mother is from Barcelona, giving her a rich multicultural background. Sandra speaks German, English, French, Spanish, and Italian fluently.

She grew up surrounded by music, studying piano and joining choirs from a young age. Inspired by ABBA’s 1974 Eurovision win, she dreamt of one day taking the Eurovision stage herself.

Eurovision 1991: Sandra Simó’s Fifth Place Triumph

Under the stage name Sandra Simó, she represented Switzerland at Eurovision 1991 in Rome with the Italian ballad “Canzone Per Te”. She earned 5th place with 118 points, including 12 points from Belgium and Luxembourg, just one point behind Spain’s Sergio Dalma.

Did you know? Sandra revealed that during Eurovision 1991, Spain allegedly tried to broker a voting exchange with Switzerland – but the Swiss delegation refused!

A Beloved Swiss TV Personality

After Eurovision, Sandra became a staple of Swiss television with shows like “Traumziel”“Dream Destination”, and “Country Roads”. Her warmth and charisma led her to host major national events including the Swiss Sports Awardsand the Swiss Award for a decade.

Beyond TV, she’s also starred in musicals like “Spamalot”“Keep Cool”, and “Sister Äct”, proving her versatility as an entertainer.

A Lifelong Connection with Eurovision

Sandra has remained close to Eurovision, serving as Switzerland’s spokesperson (1994)national selection host, and even Eurovision commentator for SRF between 1997-2002. Now, over 30 years after her Eurovision debut, she returns as host for Eurovision 2025.

Who is Michelle Hunziker?

Born on January 24, 1977 in Sorengo, TicinoMichelle Hunziker is an international star, known as a TV presenter, actress, model, and singer across Italy, Switzerland, and Germany.

Fluent in Italian, German, French, English, and Dutch, Michelle rose to fame in Italy as a fashion model before becoming a household name on Italian television.

A Career Across Europe’s Biggest TV Shows

Michelle’s credits include “Striscia la Notizia”“Zelig”“Festivalbar”, and co-hosting the Sanremo Music Festival in 2007 and 2018. She’s a familiar face in Germany too, having hosted “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”“Wetten, dass..?”, and many other prime-time shows.

Fun fact: In 2012, Swiss magazine Bilanz listed her among the highest-paid women in Switzerland, earning over €8 million annually.

Her Personal Journey

Michelle was married to Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti, with whom she shares daughter Aurora Ramazzotti. Her autobiographical book “Una Vita Apparentemente Perfetta” revealed her struggles with personal challenges, including breaking free from a controlling cult.

She’s also an advocate for women’s rights through the foundation Doppia Difesa, fighting gender-based violence.

Who is Hazel Brugger?

Born on December 9, 1993 in San Diego, California, but raised in SwitzerlandHazel Brugger is a comedian, satirist, and TV presenter celebrated for her sharp wit and deadpan humor.

She holds dual Swiss-American citizenship and grew up in Dielsdorf near Zurich. Known as the “meanest woman in Switzerland” by Tages-Anzeiger, Hazel’s comedy often tackles everyday absurdities, culture, and relationships with clever, biting insight.

A Stand-Up and TV Star

Hazel rose to fame through poetry slams, performing over 250 shows a year across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She’s received prestigious awards like the German Cabaret PrizeSalzburger Stier, and the Swiss Comedy Award.

She’s a regular on TV shows like “Heute-Show” (ZDF) and created her Netflix special “Hazel Brugger: Tropical”. With her husband Thomas Spitzer, she co-hosts the hit YouTube series “Deutschland Was Geht”.
