Maria Iside Fiore to represent Italy at Junior Eurovision 2017, listen to her song “Scelgo”

RAI has just announced that Maria Iside Fiore will represent Italy at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The young singer has been internally selected by the broadcaster to represent her homeland on November 26th in Tbilisi.

About Maria Iside:

Maria Iside Fiore was born in Carrara in 2004 and lives in Sarzana, Liguria, where she attends the musical section of the local junior high school. She plays the clarinet and sings in the school choir. When she was four, Maria Iside started dancing in the Danzabilmente group, which promotes the integration of disabilities through the dance. She is still an active member of the ensemble.

In 2015 she started singing solo and the following year she took part in several talent shows and contests at both a local and national level. Last year she was a finalist in the national contest Cantagiro in the junior section and she sang a cover of Anna Tatangelo’s Libera as part of the Red Shoes Compilation which was a CD project highlighting violence against women.

Earlier this year Maria Iside qualified for the Semi-Final of Cantagiro and made her debut as an actress in a theatre production. She was selected by Italian broadcaster RAI to represent the country in Junior Eurovision 2017.

Last year, Fiamma Boccia represented Italy at Junior Eurovision in Malta reaching the third place.
