Luxembourg 2024: Luxembourgian citizens will have a say during national final

Next year marks the first time in 30 years that Luxembourg will participate again in the Eurovision Song Contest, and the grand duchy is taking things really serious, hence the Luxembourgian audience can decide who is going to represent them in the 2024 contest.

The Luxembourgian national final will take place on January 27th 2024, and the citizens of this country can decide who is going to represent them. A national final was the ultimate way to celebrate Luxembourg’s 31-year hiatus in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Luxembourgian national final will be held in Esch-sur-Alzette in the Rockhal. The show can be streamed online, and will have commentary in no less than three languages. The competing acts will be chosen internally by the national broadcaster of Luxembourg, RTL.

Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest

The first time Luxembourg competed in the contest was during the very first edition back in 1956, and the last time this country competed was in 1993, after a streak of bad results in the years prior. Luxembourg competed 37 times in the contest of which they won five times, the last time they won was in 1983. The last time the grand duchy wanted to compete again was in 2004, but did not do so because of financial reasons.
