Today at 16:00 CET, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will officially start as the Opening Ceremony will take place in Warsaw. Mateusz Szymkowiak will be the master of ceremonies for the second time, he was also the presenter of this same event last year.
This year’s Opening Ceremony will be different to previous years due to the strong health crisis that hit the world due to Covid – 19. The majority of the acts are expected to attend the event remotely with no audience at the venue of the show.

12 countries will compete in this year’s Junior Eurovision, which sees the debut of Germany, and the withdrawal of 8 countries: Albania, Armenia, Australia, Wales, Ireland, Italy, North Macedonia and Portugal, due to the strong health crisis that plagues to the world because of Covid – 19. The 2020 Contest will take place on November 29 on a Polish television set in Warsaw under the banner #MoveTheWorld. Poland will host Junior Eurovision for the second time in a row after Viki Gabor’s win in 2019.
