Latvia: Supernova stage uncovered!

The Latvian broadcaster, LTV, has revealed the stage in which the “Supernova” shows will be held!

This new national selection procedure will begin on February 1, with the first heat. The stage has been designed by a 4-member Latvian design team: Janis Sniķers, Normunds Bļasāns, Pāvels Armanis and Raivo Rozenbriks. Its leading light director, Normunds Bļasāns, has stated that:

“Overall, the show’s visual concept is based on the image of songs – some of the time it will be a subject of video screens, some of the time, the colour and tone. In another song, it will be a dynamic change of light or radiation pattern. Light and video projections are only used as a performance enhancement feature, and we carefully build everything so that the visual material and light score will not dominate the artists and their vocal performance.”

Supernova is the new Latvian national selection for Eurovision and it will consist of two heats (February 1 and 8), a semifinal (February 15) and a grand final on February 22, exactly the same date as last year’s Dziesma final in which Aarzemnieki won the contest.

Latvia has been out of the Eurovision final the past 6 years. Will they reach the Grand Final in Vienna?
