Junior Eurovision: Italy most likely to make a debut!

Yesterday, the Italian Eurovision web-site eurofestivalnews.com published the new: “RAI is ready to make a debut at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014”. According to this website, RAI is involved in negotiations with the EBU to enter this year’s competition to take place in the Malta Shipbuilding (Marsa).

Reliable sources close to RAI have confirmed to ESC+Plus.com that this new is still a rumour but most likely to be true, that would mean Italy will be finally part of this competition. The fact is that Italy is full of young talents and RAI broadcasts one of the most famous young talent contest “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” which was won by Michelle Perniola (San Marino 2013) in 2012 and Federica Falzon (Malta 2014) in 2014. The winner of Junior Eurovision 2013 Gaia Cauchi has also performed in this show three times as guest.

This would be the third song in the contest history to be sung in Italian, the first Italian language song was performed by Demis Mirarchi representing Switzerland in 2004, it was called “Birichino”, nine years later Michelle Perniola from Italy performed “O-o-o Sole Intorno a Me” representing San Marino.

The EBU and the Junior Eurovision team are actively working to gather the most number of countries… we will have surprises very soon! Stay Tuned!
