The team of Junior Eurovision has confirmed the Cypriot broadcaster CyBC doesn’t have the budget to take part at this year’s edition in Bulgaria, so they could withdraw the contest. Apparently, they prefer spending the money in other projects instead. However, “There are some other options we’re going to try”, states the JESC team.
Cyprus was back to Junior Eurovision last year after a four-year absence. They joined the competition at the beginning of the contest missing the 2005 edition and withdrawing in 2010. They hosted the 2008 edition which took place in Lemesos.
Two 8th places, in 2004 and 2006, have been the best Cypriot results at Junior Eurovision. Last year, they were represented by Sophia Patsalides and her song “I Pio Omorfi Mera” (“The Most Beautiful Day”), she came 9th.

Of course did you see the lack of backup last year for Cyprus and the little school outfit she had last year.. If they would of spent a little more money they could of won…
