Junior Eurovision

Javier Pageo will direct the staging of Lucas Paulano’s “Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)” at Junior Eurovision 2026

Spain is already fine-tuning every detail of its entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, less than a month before the big musical celebration. Following the official presentation of “Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)”, the song with which Lucas Paulano will take to the Eurovision stage at the 24th edition of the contest, Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) unveiled on Monday 28 September the team of professionals who will shape Spain’s performance at Malta 2026.

Having created the stagings for Sandra Valero (2023) and Chloe DelaRosa (2024), Javier Pageo will once again be in charge of Spain’s stage design at the European contest.

The choice of Javier Pageo marks the return of a name well known to Spanish fans of the contest to the entry’s creative team. The stage designer was responsible for developing Spain’s visual concepts for Sandra Valero with “Loviu” and Chloe DelaRosa with “Como La Lola”, two entries in which the staging played a prominent role in building the performance. Now he will take on this responsibility again, with the aim of shaping the Spanish entry that will be seen on the stage of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

The presence of Javier Pageo brings continuity to Spain’s creative team at Junior Eurovision. His experience with previous entries will allow the team to prepare the performance with a thorough knowledge of the specific features of the format and of the demands of a television production of this kind. The goal will be to build an act that combines the different audiovisual and artistic elements into a cohesive performance on stage.

The music video, released on Monday 28 September, “has clues to some things that may be in the staging in Malta”, as César Vallejo, head of the Spanish delegation at Junior Eurovision, revealed. “You’re going to be blown away, I love it”, added Lucas Paulano himself.

Verónica Ferreiro and Raúl Amor, key members of Lucas Paulano’s team

Javier Pageo’s work will not be isolated from the rest of the artistic areas of the entry. The team will also include Verónica Ferreiro as vocal coach, responsible for working with the Spanish representative on vocal performance, preparing the act and delivering on stage. Her work will be one of the key pieces of the preparation process, especially when it comes to taking the song live and achieving a solid performance during the contest.

Meanwhile, Raúl Amor will be responsible for Lucas Paulano’s styling. The costumes will be part of the overall concept of the performance and will seek to maintain visual coherence with the staging designed by Javier Pageo.

In this way, Spain will have a team working together on the different elements of the performance, from the staging and the vocal performance to the image of its representative.

As is customary at Junior Eurovision, the staging will be one of the essential elements in bringing the entry to the stage. In this respect, Javier Pageo will once again be responsible for turning Spain’s artistic idea into a television performance, while Verónica Ferreiro and Raúl Amor complete the team in the vocal and styling areas respectively.

With the countdown under way, Spain is pressing ahead with its preparations for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which will take place at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali (Malta) on Saturday 24 October. Lucas Paulano will close the show, performing 16th and last in the running order.

On that stage, Lucas Paulano will try to keep up Spain’s strong track record at the contest. The young artist, winner of the tenth edition of ‘La Voz Kids’ in 2025, was announced on 30 July as Spain’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2026 after being selected internally. The Spanish entry, “Cuore Bello (Te Quiero, Te Quiero)”, was written by Dangelo; Blas Cantó, who represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021; and Carlos Almazán. Lucas Paulano himself also took part in the songwriting.

Dangelo, Blas Cantó and Carlos Almazán, the songwriters of Spain’s entry for Junior Eurovision 2026

Lucas Paulano’s song also represents a particularly notable collaboration within Spain’s creative team. Dangelo, Blas Cantó and Carlos Almazán were responsible for shaping the song, bringing together experience and artistic sensitivity in a project designed specifically for the Junior Eurovision stage.

Dangelo is a singer and songwriter born in Gran Canaria. He began his career as a singer-songwriter in 2004 and, in 2007, joined the band L’Acoustiqué, with which he performed for many audiences and gained recognition in the Canary Islands.

In 2009, he decided to leave the group and begin a new chapter as an independent artist. That same year, he released his first single, “Tan Lejos”. In 2014, he released his debut album, Lo mejor de mi, whose title track reached number one on Click and Roll, the Canary Islands radio chart of Los 40. His second single, “Algo en qué creer”, also reached the top spot. He also managed to sell every copy of the album, which he had released independently.

In 2015, he moved to Madrid, where he also began to stand out as a songwriter for other artists. He has worked with performers such as Blas Cantó, Beatriz Luengo, Carlos Rivera and Edurne. He co-wrote “Aquí te espero”, performed by Beatriz Luengo and Carlos Rivera on the album Cuerpo y alma, which earned a Latin Grammy nomination in 2018. He also worked on the Spanish adaptation of “I Dare You” by Kelly Clarkson.

Blas Cantó (1991) is a singer and songwriter. From a very young age, he showed an interest in music and began singing in different competitions. At just 8 years old, he won the children’s talent show ‘Veo, Veo’, which helped him launch his artistic career.

In 2004, he took part in ‘Eurojunior’, RTVE’s legendary national selection for Junior Eurovision, where he reached the final with the song “Sentir”. Years later, he joined the band Auryn, a group of five young men that achieved great popularity in Spain. During his years in Auryn, Blas Cantó released several albums and played numerous concerts.

After Auryn split up in 2016, Blas Cantó began his career as a solo artist. In 2017, he released his first single, “In Your Bed”, followed by his debut album, Complicado. Thanks to his songs and his distinctive voice, he became a very popular figure in Spanish music.

Blas Cantó’s involvement also provides an interesting link with Spain’s Eurovision history. The singer from Murcia represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with “Voy A Quedarme” (24th place with 6 points).

Beyond music, Blas Cantó has taken part in several television programmes and other entertainment projects. Throughout his career, he has proved to be a versatile, hard-working artist who is committed to his passion for music.

Carlos Almazán is a Spanish music producer, songwriter and singer. His career is characterised by an all-round vision of music, taking part both in the writing and composition of songs and in their production and artistic development.

From the start, he was involved in performing, as a member of musical projects such as QUARTTO, a Latin pop group in which he was vocalist and guitarist. Over time, he expanded his work into songwriting and production, establishing himself as the creative force behind numerous projects by Spanish and Latin American artists.

Throughout his career, he has worked with artists such as Carlos Baute, Sergio Dalma, Ana Guerra, Zzoilo, Pitingo, Funambulista, Cepeda, Lorena Gómez and J Kbello, among others. His work as producer and songwriter on songs by Marta Santos stands out, especially “La Vida Entera”, which achieved gold and platinum certifications. He also produced five songs on Funambulista’s project 180º.

As a songwriter and producer, Carlos Almazán works mainly in pop and Latin music, although his experience incorporates different influences and sounds. His work seeks to enhance each artist’s identity and to strike a balance between a strong song and contemporary production.

He currently works with Sony Music Publishing Spain, consolidating a career that reflects his evolution from performer to creator and producer with a prominent presence in the Spanish music industry.

Who is Lucas Paulano? Meet Spain’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2026

Lucas Paulano is a 10-year-old singer from Jaén. In 2025, he rose to fame after being crowned winner of the 10th edition of ‘La Voz Kids’, becoming, at the age of just 8, the youngest contestant ever to win the show in Spain.

From a very young age, he showed great musical talent. His father, an amateur musician, taught him his first notions of singing and accompanied him on the guitar in many of his performances. Before appearing on television, he had barely performed in public, with a school performance on Peace Day standing out.

On ‘La Voz Kids’, Lucas Paulano impressed from the Blind Auditions with his rendition of “Luz De Luna” by Mexican singer Javier Solís, prompting several coaches to want him on their teams. He eventually chose Manuel Turizo as his coach, and with him he kept growing throughout the competition thanks to performances full of sensitivity and vocal quality.

In the Great Battle, he made it through to the next stage with “Dígale” by David Bisbal. In the Knockouts, he earned a fast pass to the final stage. In the semi-final, he went for the emotional “Amor Eterno” by the late Rocío Dúrcal.

In the grand final, Lucas Paulano moved the audience with his performance of “Algo De Mí” by Camilo Sesto, a performance that has racked up more than 6.5 million views on YouTube. He also shared the stage with Kapo and fellow contestant Geraldine Aranda on “Uwaie”, and joined voices with Manuel Turizo on “Quiéreme Mientras Se Pueda”. In the end, young Lucas Paulano took the victory, which was also Manuel Turizo’s first win as a coach on the programme.

Lucas Paulano is considered one of the most promising young voices in Spanish music. His voice, naturalness and charisma have won over audiences, and his time on ‘La Voz Kids’ marked the start of a promising artistic career. His first releases include his debut single, “Todo Sigue Igual”, which he co-wrote with Alejandro Jaén, Luigi Flores and William Paz. The song was released at Christmas 2025.
