After some rumours, RAI has finally confirmed the Italian participation at this year’s Junior Eurovision!
The announcement has taken place via the official web-site of “Ti Lascio Una Canzone”, the broadcaster also confirmed us the news.
As reported yesterday, RAI will select its representative through a special gala concert to be broadcasted on September 12. This will also be first programme of “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” 8 and it will be devoted to select the Italian representative in Bulgaria among former participants of the show from 10 to 16 years. This Italian talent show was already successfully used to select internally Vincenzo Cantiello for Junior Eurovision as one of the participants of the 2014 edition.
The Italian final will be hosted by Antonella Clerici under the direction of Maestro Leonardo De Amicis, composer of the Junior Eurovision 2014 winning entry “Tu Primo Grande Amore”.
Some former participants and guests of “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” have been recently involved into the Eurovision panorama. The Italian representatives at Eurovision 2015 “Il Volo” met and became a trio during their participation at “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” 2009. The director and creator of the show put them together, with the purpose to create a trio similar to “The Three Tenors”.
The Sammarinese representative at Junior Eurovision 2013 and Eurovision 2015 Michele Perniola was the winner of the sixth edition of the contest in 2012 and the last year’s Maltese representative Federica Falzon became the winner of the seventh edition in a duet with the Italian tenor Vincenzo Carni. Madalina Lefter, who represented Romania at Junior Eurovision 2008, took part at the 4th edition getting the special jury prize. The Junior Eurovision 2013 winner Gaia Cauchi was also guest of the show back in 2011.
Italy made its debut at Junior Eurovision 2014 getting the gold trophy with Vincenzo Cantiello and the song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”.
