About the song “Due vite”

Marco Mengoni and his song, “Due vite”, have won the 2023 Sanremo Festival, which meant that Marco would represent Italy in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, but his song choice was open. In interviews after the Sanremo Festival Marco Mengoni stated that he was open to singing another song during the contest than the song he won with in Sanremo; now it has been made public that Marco will sing “Due vite” in Eurovision 2023, but he will have to scrap some of the song to keep it within the allowed three minutes a song can last in the contest. Merco’s entry needs to be 46 seconds shorter than the original version.

About Marco Mengoni

Marco Mengoni was selected to represent Italy in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest during the Italian national final, the Sanremo Festival 2023. Marco has been in the contest before, in 2013, with the song “L’essenziale”, with which he finished 7th (of 26) in the Grand Final.

Eurovision 2023

Italy’s Marco Mengoni will immediately perform in the Grand Final of the contest of 2023, because Italy is one of the Big Five countries, which means that the country does not have to compete in either of the Semi-finals.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place on May 9th, 11th, and 13th 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. 37 countries will take the stage this year.
