The song has been selected among several professionals of the music industry from both Malta and 13 different European countries. Another revamped version of Chameleon was also in the running but as they have just ”said”: ”“Walk on Water” was the overwhelming favourite to represent Malta in Stockholm”.

The video for Ira’s new song was filmed last week at the Malta National Aquarium, and across several locations in Gozo. The song was officially submitted to the European Broadcast Union before last weekend’s deadline.

Malta held its traditional Malta Eurovision Song Contest last January, where we attended to bring you the first ever coverage of the event on our website. Eventually, Ira Losco took the trophy with her song ”Chameleon (Invincible)” but the rules allowed the winner to change their entry so as to look for the song that could give the country the best rank possible in the contest.

What do you think about the change? Will Ira get to improve her 2002 result and bring the contest to Malta for the first time ever? Stay tuned!
