Tonight Iceland’s national search for their next Eurovision contestant will kick off. In total there will be 10 artists who will compete for the honor to represent their country in Turin, Italy.
The format
The format of the Icelandic search for a Eurovision representative will be the following:
- 2 Semi-finals (February 26th and March 5th 2022) and 1 Grand Final (March 12th 2022).
- In both Semi-finals 5 acts will compete of which 2 progress to the Grand Final.
- Both Semi-finals will have a 100% televote system.
- The Grand Final will have 2 rounds, thus also 2 rounds of voting: One with 50% jury votes and 50% televote, and a second one with 100% televoting.
- A special jury has the option to give one of the non-qualifiers of the Semi-finals a wildcard.

- Haffi Haff – Gía
- Sigga, Beta & Elín – Með hækkandi sól
- Stefán Óli – Ljósið
- Stefanía Svavarsdóttir – Hjartað mitt
Semi-final 2:
- Hanna Mia and the Astrotourists – Séns með þér
- Katla – Þaðan af
- Markéta Irglová – Mögulegt
- Reykjavikurdaetur – Tökum af stað
- Suncity and Sanna – Hækkum í botn
- Semi-Final 1: 26 February 2022, 20:45 – 22:20 CET
- Semi-final 2: 5 March 2022, 20:45 – 22:20 CET
- Grand Final: 12 March 2022, 20:45 – 23:15 CET

Eurovision Song Contest 2022
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 10th (Semi-final 1), 12th (Semi-final 2), and on the 14th (Grand Final) in Turin, Italy.
