Iceland 2023: More details about the national final revealed

It is only a week until the 2023 national entrants of the Icelandic national final, also known as “Söngvakeppnin 2023”, will be announced.

There are more details to disclose about the Icelandic national final, “Söngvakeppnin 2023”, like the hosts of the show, these will be the following: Musician Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson, presenter Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir and broadcaster Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson will all three be hosting the Icelandic national final. Next to these, Lee Proud will once again return as the Director and Choreographer of the performances of the 10 entrants, and Kristjana Stefánsdóttir will be the Music Director this year.

The 10 entrants of the Icelandic national final will be presented to the public on January 28th 2023, which is three weeks before the first Semi-final of Iceland will take place. The full songs of Söngvakeppnin 2023 will be made public on

Eurovision 2022

In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 Iceland was represented by Systur with the song “Með hækkandi sól“. The sisters ended in 10th position in Semi-final 1, and in 23rd position (of 25) in the Grand Final.
