The following day, on December 16, the participant winner that will represent the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin will be announced. The organizers have stated that they wanted to complete their selection process as soon as possible, with the aim that the winning artists can begin preparing their performance from January 2022.

The winner will be determined by a combination of an international jury (50%), international public vote (25%) and Czech public vote (25%).

This is the fifth time that the Czech Republic is using a national final to find its Eurovision contestant. Their last representative, Benny Cristo, won the 2020 edition and was internally selected for the 2021 event after the 2020 contest was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His song “Omaga” failed to qualify to the Grand Final, as he unfortunately finished 15th out of 17 acts in the semi-final, scoring a total of 23 points, which all of them came from the jury as the public awarded 0 points in the televoting.
