Tonight, after an exciting show full of music on German TV channel ARD, Germany decided that it is Malik Harris who gets the golden ticket to wave the German flag in Turin, Italy! 6 acts competed, but eventually it was Malik Harris with “Rockstars” who took the crown.
About MALIK HARRIS
Malik Harris grew up in Issing near Vilgertshofen. His grandfather was an opera singer, his grandmother was a pianist, and his father played numerous musical instruments.
Harris began his musical career with cover songs, accompanying himself with the guitar, which he has been playing since he was 13 years old. As well as playing the guitar, Harris taught himself how to play the keyboard and operate the drum machine.
His firsts singles Say the Name (2018) and Welcome to the Rumble (2019) became hits on the airplay charts and on streaming platforms such as Spotify. After Malik Harris signed a contract with Universal Music Group, his EP Like That Again was released in the summer of 2019, followed by the single “Home”. In May 2019, his first solo tour began. He has been also an opener for international acts such as James Blunt, Alex Clare, Jeremy Loops, Tom Odell or LP.
Malik Harris was the first German artist to be seen on a Times Square billboard in New York City for a week when his single When We’ve Arrived was released in October 2020. Following his successful 2020 releases like the Black Lives Matter anthem Faith, Harris’ debut album Anonymous Colonist was released in August 2021.

The format
Since Monday the 28th of February 2022 radio listeners could vote for their favorite song on designated websites; these votes counted for 50% of the grand total. During the live broadcast of the German national final, “Germany 12 Points”, there was one round of televoting, which counted as the other 50% of the total. Whatever the case might be, it is <…> who came out victorious.
Eurovision Song Contest 2022
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 10th (Semi-final 1), 12th (Semi-final 2), and on the 14th (Grand Final) in Turin, Italy. Germany is part of the Big 5, and as such will immediately proceed to the Grand Final.
