Georgia: Idol format to be used for 2020 selection

In 2019, Georgia used the Idol format to select its Eurovision representative. Oto Nemsadze emerged victorious during the show and went on to represent his country in Tel Aviv.

The broadcaster in Georgia has confirmed that this same format will be used in 2020 to determine the act that will represent Georgia in the Netherlands.

Oto did not qualify for the Grand Final at Eurovision, finishing 14th in his semi-final. However, the Idol format produced a lot of national enthusiasm and kept the identity of the nation at the center of themes which ran throughout the show.
