France 2 opens submissions for Destination Eurovision 2019

France 2 has opened submissions for the upcoming edition of Destination Eurovision. The broadcaster will select their 2019 representative through an external procedure as they already did this year.

All interested singers and composers aged 16 on 1 January 2019 can send their applications from now until 3 November 2018 by filling the form available on the official website of the broadcaster. France 2 has highlighted the following requirements:

  • Songs mustn’t be made public before 1 September 2018.
  • Songs mustn’t be commercialised before the contest.
  • A maximum of 6 performers on stage is allowed.
  • Composers are required to be registered in any collecting societies.

You can find the full set of rules by clicking here (in French).

Madame Monsieur represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song “Mercy”. Despite being among the favourites to win the competition, they only managed to reach the 13th place in the Grand Final.
