LRT has just aired the Semi-Final 1 of its national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. 9 candidates competed at tonight’s show but only 4 have gone through to the final.
Although tonight’s show was broadcast pre-recorded, the public could vote for their favourites during the show. The judges had already cast their votes, but, unlike previous years, they were kept as a secret until the end of the broadcast, when they were mixed with the ones from the audience at home revealing us the 4 qualifiers:
- KaYra – Alligator
Viktorija Miškūnaitė – The OceanBaltos Varnos – Namų dvasia- Rūta Loop – We Came from the Sun
Gabrielius Vagelis – Tave čia randu- The Roop – On Fire
Kristina Jure – My Sound of SilenceAlen Chicco – Somewhere Out There- Aistė Pilvelytė – Unbreakable
Tonight’s expert panel was made up of five professionals, Ramūnas Zilnys, Andrius Mamontovas, Giedrė Kilčiauskienė, Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Stackevičius. Their results were revealed at the end of the show to avoid any influence on the public decision.
Next week the Lithuanian national selection will continue with the second and last semi-final, where another 9 candidates will do their best to win a final ticket.
