Update: YLE revealed this morning the dates for the Uden Musiikin Kilpailu, there will be 5 heats (28/12, 04/01, 11/01, 18/01, and 25/01). The final will be on February 1st. Also, a Special Press Event will be streamed by YLE.fi on the 10th of December.
Finnish national broadcaster YLE has recieved 420 songs for Uden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), after the submission period ended last week. It is sligthly less than last year, where 470 songs were sent in.
A jury will now listen through all the songs, and choose the 12 semifinalists, that will get to compete in UMK, which is scheduled to begin in late December. The final will take place in February and will feature 8 songs. The winner will be decided by 50% jury and 50% televote, and will go on represent Finland at the Eurovision 2014 in Copenhagen.
Finland was this year represented by Krista Siegfrids, with the song ‘Marry Me’, placing 24th in the final
