The second Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 takes place tonight in Basel, Switzerland, where 16 countries will battle for a spot in Saturday’s Grand Final. With only 10 places available, emotions are high, and the competition is even fiercer than in Semi-Final 1.
Taking place at the St. Jakobshalle, this semi-final brings some of the year’s most talked-about performances to the stage — including Austria’s JJ, one of the overall favorites. France, Germany, and the United Kingdom will also perform their entries tonight as pre-qualified finalists, offering a full preview before the big night.

Semi-Final 2 Voting and Show Format
- Start Time: 21:00 CEST / 3:00 PM EST / 12:00 PM PDT
- Location: St. Jakobshalle, Basel
- Voting System: 100% public televote
- Eligible voters: 16 participating countries + France, Germany, United Kingdom + Rest of the World
Tonight’s results will be entirely decided by viewers, with voting open for 18 minutes after the final performance. “Rest of the World” votes can be cast after the jury show the night before and up until the live broadcast begins.
The announcement format will again feature a split-screen reveal for the first nine qualifiers, followed by a final classic reveal for the tenth and last finalist.
Special Performances & Interval Acts
Semi-Final 2 will include a heartfelt tribute to the cancelled Eurovision 2020 edition. Four artists who were selected to represent their countries in that year will perform:

- Lithuania – The Roop: “On Fire”
- Azerbaijan – Efendi: “Cleopatra”
- Malta – Destiny: “All Of My Love”
Hosts and Production
The show is hosted by Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer, with Michelle Hunziker joining them for the Grand Final. Tonight’s broadcast includes pre-recorded segments, comedic moments, interviews in the green room, and multiple recaps to aid viewers in voting.
