Eurovision 2024: Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman are the 2024 hosts!

On February 5th 2024 Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman were announced as the hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö (Sweden). This duo being the hosts marks the first time since 2018 that an all-female duo presents the contest.

Who is Malin Åkerman?

Malin Åkerman is a Swedish actress, mostly known for her role in the 2009’s “Watchmen”, in which she played the role of superheroine Silk Sceptre II. Next to this, she is also known for her role in the acclaimed series “Billions”. Malin was born in Stockholm, but grew up in Canada when her family moved there when she was two. In 2019 Malin made her Swedish acting debut in the series “En del av mitt hjärta”. The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be one of Malin’s first presenting experiences.

Who is Petra Mede?

Petra Mede is no surprise, because when it became known that the upcoming contest would be in Sweden fans demanded Petra’s third return to the contest as a presenter. Petra hosted the contest of 2013, which was epic, and in 2016 she even surpassed her first Eurovision presenting gig. Next to this, Petra hosted the 60th anniversary show of the contest, together with UK presenter Graham Norton. Petra is one of only three who hosted the contest more than once, and she is in the presence of Katie Boyle when it comes down to the most Eurovision presenting tasks overall.
