Eurovision 2023: There will be 3,000 Eurovision tickets available to displaced Ukrainians

The Government of the United Kingdom has announced that there will be 3,000 Eurovision tickets available for displaced Ukrainians in the UK. This year’s Eurovision Song Contest is a joint venture of the United Kingdom and Ukraine, because the latter was last year’s winner, but due to the ongoing war with Russia the country cannot organize the contest on home soil.

3,000 Eurovision tickets available

The Government of the UK has stated there will be 3,000 Eurovision tickets available to displaced Ukrainians in the United Kingdom to go and watch the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. The tickets will be officially made available through the Himes for Ukraine Scheme, Ukraine Family Scheme, and Ukraine Extension Scheme. Ukrainians who are part of one of these schemes can get a free ticket to watch the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool.

The Mayor of Liverpool, Joanne Anderson, said the following about the matter:

“Ukraine is at the heart of all our Eurovision host city plans. Working with our Ukrainian community we are shaping a thought-provoking and powerful programme that is all-encompassing and representative of modern Ukraine – inspiring, poignant, funny, beautiful and moving.”

Eurovision 2023

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place on May 9th, 11th, and 13th 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. 37 countries will compete for the crown. This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be a joint venture, since last year’s winner Ukraine cannot organize the contest on home soil because of the ongoing war with Russia.
